Blueberry Sage Iced Tea
Cool. Clarifying. A little unexpected.
This iced tea is summer in a glass — earthy from the sage, lightly sweet from the blueberries, and quietly refreshing.
I first tried this on a whim, thinking it might be a strange combo. But it’s surprisingly calming, especially on a warm day when you need something that feels like a pause.
Blueberry and mint is a classic combo — but swapping mint for sage brings a more grounding, earthy energy. It’s calming in a deeper way, and a lovely alternative if you want something a little different.
You can make it stronger or more subtle depending on your mood — sip it chilled over ice, or serve it warm and let the flavors unfold slowly. Either way, this one’s a keeper.
Ingredients:
2 cups water
1 tsp dried sage (or 2–3 fresh sage leaves)
½ cup fresh or frozen blueberries
Optional: a touch of maple syrup or raw honey
A squeeze of lemon (optional but brightens it)
Instructions:
In a small pot, bring water, blueberries, and sage to a gentle simmer.
Let it steep for about 8–10 minutes, pressing the blueberries slightly to release their color and flavor.
Strain into a glass or pitcher.
Add sweetener and lemon if using.
Chill in the fridge or serve over ice with a fresh sage leaf or a few blueberries for garnish.
You can also enjoy this warm if you’re in need of something a bit more grounding. Just strain and sip slowly from your favorite mug.
